Hey! Um. I know I don't post that much, but I kind of have an announcement?

And that announcement is, I'm opening a used books and comics store called the Satellite of Love Used Books and Comics! It's in Willful Machine in the green craftsman house and that takes me to my second announcement. Or, uh, request? Maybe that's better. [pause] Yeah, that's better.

Hours will be Monday through Friday from nine am to five pm, closed from noon to one for lunch, along with Saturday and Sunday, eleven am to two pm. Obviously, I can't handle all of that by myself. Right? So I'm looking for a couple of employees.

Interviews for anyone who's interested can be done here and you can choose between store products or trade goods for pay.

So...I guess that's it? I hope to see you there? Oh, and the store mascot will be Nosferatmew. My batcat. She's very well trained to not bite unless you give her permission to.

Hmm. I'm going to base this on the King James thing, so it's about four? But I'm sure other people tried to get it to work even after his alchemists failed. [LOL 2019] And, exactly! I mean, before I came here, I never even imagined blood that would come out as black glitter. But here I am with black glitter blood.

Well, I figure it's best to know a decent variety so if someone's like "hey, I want a recommendation for a fill in the blank," at least one of us can answer. And those are good genres to know a lot about, since I'm more into sci-fi, fantasy, history, and super-heroes. And poetry of just about any kind.

I'll admit, I never paid much attention to English royalty. Japan...had its own history with alchemy. Considering the beliefs in the five elemental poles with Buddhism and the four cardinals in Shinto, it's unsurprising. Onmyodo was even controlled by the imperial government past the standard studies and supports up until just a few years ago where I'm from...1867 I want to say. [An embarrassed clearing of his throat.] Sorry, history is fascinating.

I kind of watched some costume drama about Anne Boleyn when I was...five? Six? Either way, she was hot, so I paid attention. And made note of things so I could read as much non-fiction about the era as possible. But I'm not surprised that Japan has its own history, certain elements of history seem to transcend place and era. [and she looks fascinated] That's a lot more information about those religions than I ever got back home. Sure, you had your occasional white, suburban housewife who claimed to be Buddhist, but all they seemed to do was a lot of yoga.

Buddhism has very loose ties to yoga, it's true. But that...is not what Buddhism is. Somehow it doesn't surprise me that there are people that claim it without truly following the tenants.

I wonder why they don't really mention that in world history class? They always start in the 1940s and maybe make it to the late 1960s.
