[the video opens on Lexi, sitting on the couch in her very blue living room, with Orville in his usual place on Lexi's shoulder, snuffling into her hair, and the new addition to the household, Nosferatmew perched on the arm of the couch, her batwings folded on her back]
Hey! Um. I know I don't post that much, but I kind of have an announcement?
And that announcement is, I'm opening a used books and comics store called the Satellite of Love Used Books and Comics! It's in Willful Machine in the green craftsman house and that takes me to my second announcement. Or, uh, request? Maybe that's better. [pause] Yeah, that's better.
Hours will be Monday through Friday from nine am to five pm, closed from noon to one for lunch, along with Saturday and Sunday, eleven am to two pm. Obviously, I can't handle all of that by myself. Right? So I'm looking for a couple of employees.
Interviews for anyone who's interested can be done here and you can choose between store products or trade goods for pay.
So...I guess that's it? I hope to see you there? Oh, and the store mascot will be Nosferatmew. My batcat. She's very well trained to not bite unless you give her permission to.
Okay, now that's it.

Well, I figure it's best to know a decent variety so if someone's like "hey, I want a recommendation for a fill in the blank," at least one of us can answer. And those are good genres to know a lot about, since I'm more into sci-fi, fantasy, history, and super-heroes. And poetry of just about any kind.

Black...glitter blood. Mine still appears rather normal. What blood type would that make you? [He's trying to make note of the varieties. Please help him.]
My partner would be able to engage you in several discussions around poetry I'm sure. His studies were in literature.
(CW: cultural ignorance/insensitivity)
Yeah, black glitter. I bleed a Hobby Lobby with a lot less gross health care dictates. So I'd be a Darkblood. How about you?
That would be fun! Is he here?
no subject
What is a Hobby Lobby? And why does it have health care dictates? I am a Warmblood. So nothing seems out of the ordinary with me.
Oh. Yes, he is. Ryunosuke Naruhodo--should you ever meet him.

It's a craft store ran by right-wing Christians. I never go there personally, I prefer JoAnn Fabrics or Michael's, but there are a lot of those stores around, all selling craft supplies at dirt cheap prices. But, you are? Does that mean you already had powers?
I think I've met him. The name rings a bell, at least?
no subject
Ah. Christians are all the same to me, to be honest. Their presence was banned in Japan up until a couple of decades ago. [What is a right-wing? Does it somehow involve birds? Please keep confusing this poor 1800s man.] Oh, I have no powers. Rather unfortunate, given what we can come up against.
He's more personable than I am. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if you've been acquainted to some degree.
no subject
Ehh, I'm secular Jewish myself, most Christians seem alike to me, too. And banned? Really? Another thing I didn't know. [but she sounds pleased to learn it, not embarrassed or defensive] What about blood abilities?
Well, I'm pretty shy, but I'm trying to get better 'cause it seems like a matter of survival here. So, yeah, we've probably met.

It was in a time when Japan wished to be closed off from the world, so many things that were not traditional, or from an outside influence, were banned. [He's from a time when that was changing, thankfully.] Ah...no. None that I know of at least.
He is the more outgoing of the two of us, so it is certainly likely.

I wonder why they don't really mention that in world history class? They always start in the 1940s and maybe make it to the late 1960s.
Well, I'm glad to know you both?
no subject
Ah, well...I wouldn't know. The year is only 1892 where I'm from. Is there a reason your history lessons start at such a late period?
Trust me, the pleasure is ours. Or, at the very least, mine.
no subject
Oh! Sorry, I didn't think about the whole different times thing. And I don't know. Maybe because they figure that everything revolves around America? Which is beyond dumb, but I'm no teacher.
Thank you, I appreciate that!

It's all right. I hadn't known any of this, different worlds or times, was possible. Where I'm from, it's England that is the center of the world.
Of course.
no subject
They went through a long time of being the center in my world, too, but I think that ended somewhere in the 1910s?
