(She smirks at her own joke, but really, she's starving.)

[ It's a joke? But also not a joke. Hey, he has a history here with killing people who are awful to others, why not help an acquaintance at the same time? He shouldn't feel a kinship with Jennifer, he's never eaten someone for sustenance, or any other reason, but he sure has taken lives that he shouldn't have for the better of others. Maybe he sees a little of himself in someone who just can't help it. That might be easier to accept in himself than just not being able to deal with the red tape of the judicial system. ]

Yeah, Jennifer.

(Jennifer doesn't really hear the full question. She just hears "Jenny" and she's back on that rock, tied up, with a group of men singing some shitty song with "Jenny" in the lyrics. She could feel the knife coming down and down and down again until she couldn't remember anything else.

When she remembers where she is, what's happening, she has to physically slide a hand over her stomach to make sure it wasn't riddled with holes. When she pulls her hand back, she half expects it to be covered in blood again, but there was nothing at all. There's no rage. Just the same exhausted, disappointed void that inevitably, every man wound up at the same conclusion.)

(She says the word slowly, quietly. It isn't Jennifer who pulls herself up emotionally - it's the demon. Whatever vulnerability was burning in her eyes dries up, and the look that replaces it is cold and controlled. The demon smiles at Yuri, almost playful, a stark contrast to whatever the hell just happened.)

Only total assholes call me that. It's Jennifer or Jen.

[ Yuri watches that change come over her face. He doesn't know what it means, except that he stepped in it, for sure, and that isn't something he really wants to do with this girl. Of everyone he's met so far in this new world, she's the most dangerous, by his estimation. Anyone who talks so calmly and casually about eating people isn't fucking around. Clearly she could kill him without much trouble, and he doesn't really want to die. Not this time. Not like that.

If she does manage to kill him, it'll be because he let his guard down when he shouldn't have.

He doesn't smile back, and just nods. That smile gives him chills and Yuri, if nothing else, knows when to make his exit ]
