And I would have mentally torn it apart. I can do that now. Kind of. [and she gestures to a floating throw-pillow]

What, are you questioning my judgement? [her voice thoroughly full of mischief]

Granted, that probably wouldn't happen since those guys know how to use their abilities really well.

[Not that Luz would have let logic enter into the idea that someone would dare try to hurt Lexi]!

Me? I would never! Them, though? Maybe.

Obviously, you've never seen me really panicked before. I'd telekinesis those sons of bitches all the way back to the stone age.

[and telling herself that makes her feel braver than she thinks she actually would have been under the circumstances]

And I still need to meet them! I, uh. I really want them to approve of me?

[Luz laughed, shaking her head].

I have no doubt you'd do that. But if I even had to think of you fighting those guys, I'd be there in a second.

[Luz wouldn't even hesitate to use lethal force if they intended to cut up Lexi like they had to Sharon or Vi].

Those guys back home? No, Lexi. Not them. Mami, yes! Eda and Willow and Gus, YES!

[Lexi grins]

That would make us a total battle couple. Honestly, that's always been kind of a hashtag goals of mine.

[she's trying to put the brightest possible spin onto things, fearing that if she doesn't, Luz might dwell too much on what did happen]

I definitely want them to approve of me. I, y'know, it'll be a little intimidating.

[Luz blushed a little here].

That's one strange goal, but I think I like the idea of us looking after each other.

[That was a good call. Luz really didn't need to think about how bad things had gotten in there].

For now, just worry about the people here. This is the world we're dealing with now, and as far as I'm concerned? You're my star in it.

[and Lexi grins]

Is it strange? I don't know. I played a lot of video games where you can end up in that sort of couple. But us looking after each other...that's a given.

[Lexi was far more observant and careful than her friends back home had ever given her credit for. here, she didn't have to be as careful. but she was as observant]

I will. Especially you. [and she melts at the description] Well, to borrow a phrase from 'Game of Thrones,' you're my sun and stars.

So have I! Honestly, that's pretty fun! Kinda scary in real life though, especially when you're looking after someone. You don't want anything to happen to them.

[Luz felt the exact opposite: she wanted to make up for all of the mistakes she made in being impulsive back home. Granted, she didn't always follow that].

And you're my home, Lexi. I'll make sure I can protect you when you need me.

Okay, when you put it that way I can see the drawbacks. Like you'd be so concerned with how you're other half is doing, you'd lose track of how you're doing.

[and that usually ended in a fatality. which she'd like for both of them to avoid as long as possible]

Ohhh. [Lexi visibly melts] I can't respond to that with anything other than a kiss. So you'd better get over here.

Which is why the both of you have to be super awesome! Also, just very well coordinated.

[Luz would definitely not mind training with Lexi when something bad starts to go down in Trench].

[Luz skips over to Lexi, because who could say no to kisses]?

Weeelll, I think we can get to that point. Between your magic and my apparently now activated Darkblood abilities.

[which Lexi was ridiculously proud of. she felt like a character out of a comic book hero.

other than Nosferatmew and Mewnose, as soon as their harness leashes came within arm's reach, she was going to grab them]

And she's waiting at the door, many things floating around except for Mewnos and Nosferatmew whose leashes Lexi had a death-grip on]

You have to absolutely show me the stuff you can do! I can't wait to see it!

[That was so exciting! She couldn't wait to see what Lexi could do]!

[Luz, of course, rushed out the door with the staff. Within twenty minutes, Luz, in an overly puffed up coat with (surprise surprise) a reindeer hat and rabbit mittens. Clearly someone was trying to play up the cute of the holiday]!

Hiya, gorgeous!

Yeah, it's weird. I kinda feel like I belong in the X-Men.

[telekinesis? yes. messing with time? that, too. screwing with reality...probably won't be her finest moment, but yes.

and the reindeer hat and rabbit mittens are beyond adorable, so as soon as she gets within arm's reach of Luz, she tugs her in for a warm kiss]>

Wait, why did you say hi to yourself? [and she winks]

And now I'm imaging you in spandex Lexi, or a really cool mohawk. You did that on purpose!

[Luz was teasing, mildly. Only she could be slightly flirtatious and nerdy at the same time. She was definitely going to have to get an update on what Lexi could do though.

And Luz makes it over and is happily smothered with affection by her amazing girlfriend],

[Luz manages to squeak, caught off guard by the one-two punch of the kiss and the compliment].

Oooh, classic Claremont 80s punk Storm! But you know, I'm kind of more a Kitty Pryde girl. Despite her constant on again and off again with Colossus. I always liked her with Rachel Summers more.

[and Lexi...could be nerdy. while attempting to flirt. because preferring the lesbian subtext was way more interesting than the text.

and she continues to hang onto Luz tightly, giving her another kiss]

Hey. I was asleep but I missed you, anyway.

[Luz laughed. She loved that Lexi had the same love of nerdy comics she did for manga and comics!

Luz couldn't argue with that, and pretty much couldn't anyway. She was practically mewling in Lexi's grasp right now].

It's been a long, crazy month. Now I feel like I'm coming home, mi mujer.

[it was one of the things which brought them together in the first place, after all!

and Lexi grinned as she tugged Luz into the house, closing the door]

Well, I'd like to think that's true, mon amour.

[This was very true! And Luz loved it!

And Luz made a small (yet cute) yelp as she was pulled into the house]!

Oh, it is! But now I'm here! So what do you want to do?

[and so did Lexi!

and that yelp was adorable. absolutely adorable.

however, most of her belongings are still floating in the air. she already had Nosferatmew and Mewnos on harnesses and leashes because she's paranoid and was afraid they'd get hurt]

Welllll. I was hoping for some quality time with my girlfriend as soon as we figure out how to get the rest of my stuff settled down. And you still need to watch a Neil Breen movie and we can eat popcorn and cuddle. Then, assuming we don't eat too much popcorn, I could make dinner?

[Luz was always going to be adorable: there was no way or getting out of that!

Now she was getting a good look at the things floating around, and it stopped her in her tracks].

Whoa! That's...kind of cool! So you're starting to get a start in using your powers! I better make sure I don't float away too!

That sounds great! The popcorn and cuddling stuff, the Neil Breen will be...interesting!

Ooh, really?! What did you have in mind?

[and adorkable. one of the reasons why Lexi fell for her!

and a freakin' lamp floats on by. one which looks way too heavy to be moved with normal telekinesis.

and Lexi sighs]

Okay. Maybe we need to get the moving stuff with my mind thing under control, then we move on to step two, the movie popcorn cuddling stuff?

[It was a two-way street, except that Luz also thought that Lexi was super cool in a place where no one had paid enough attention to her there.

Luz stares at the lamp and couldn't help but laugh].

You know, this is really making me think of the Boiling Isles now! But sure, let's do that!

[And Luz, being the girl she is, immediately jumps on the lamp in an attempt to pull it down and is now holding onto it fast].

Rragh! I think I'm wearing it down!

[and Lexi would say the exact same thing about Luz's Earth, that it had no idea who it was missing and probably wasn't cool enough for her anyway, but seriously, just pay attention!

and Lexi laughs, too]

Okay, um. Think non-floaty thoughts. But not down thoughts, I don't wanna get depressed, I just wanna get my stuff back where it belongs.

[and then Luz grabs the lamp]---wait wait wait, that wasn't what I meant! [she reaches for Luz's leg]
