It's a terrible idea. The stakes are too high. What if you end up in a complicated relationship with one of the things that shapes this place? What if you break its heart and it decides to get revenge on the whole city? Trust me. You don't want to mess with world-altering spirits.

That could happen with non-gods too, you know. There are plenty of powerful and crazy bastards in the universe and not all of them are technical gods but could do just as much damage. Historically speaking, people have done batshit crazy things for the royalty they fell in love with. I barely see a difference.

Besides, it seems somewhat callous to restrict powerful beings from finding the chance to fall in love. Not even from the perspective of these gods alone, but is it really fair to imply that anything that powerful should indefinitely be alone just because you want a city to be theoretically safe?

The exact opposite could happen too. What if someone fell in love with one of these gods and made them feel so good that they permanently protected the city and granted everyone with crazy cool good things?

(He will NOT. He IS a world-altering spirit, damn it.)
