Hello. Again. [ Oof, okay, not the strongest start. ] I'm Anakin Solo, a knight of the Jedi Order, at your service. I sort of remember being here before, and I wanted to thank everyone who helped me out.

They offered me a bed at the orphanage, but I don't want to take it from someone who might need it.
How does housing work here, exactly? I don't mind sleeping outside, but that doesn't seem wise in the long run.

[ A pause. ]

By the way, I don't remember the sky being like this before-- is this normal? As normal as anything is here, I mean.

[ Another pause. He's clearly not in his element. ]

[ It takes Anakin awhile to respond. For one thing, he's not sure how to approach the conversation. But, more importantly, it's actually Ben Kenobi. Right there. For as much as his uncle describes his old Master, nothing quite approaches seeing him, talking to him.

Finally, he turns the feed on and decides to plunge right in. ]

Yes. I was named after Anakin Skywalker.

[jedies]

[ that much he had garnered, but he was unfamiliar with the surname. ]

Named by whom?

[hopesparks]

My mother, Leia.

[ If he's met Luke, surely he knows about Leia. Right? ]

[jedies]

And she's related to Luke?

[hopesparks]

[ He wonders why Luke didn't say anything. Maybe he shouldn't have either, but it's a little too late for that now. ]

She's his twin sister.

[jedies]

[ ah. he wonders why luke hadn't mentioned her, but perhaps luke felt obi-wan didn't need to know. it is a small sting. ]

I see.

[hopesparks]

[ Ben is taking this very calmly. Maybe he's used to it? Anakin's not sure he could ever be. ]

Sorry if I, uh, startled you.

Ezra mentioned that people are pulled in from all different times and places. He said that you are from the era of the Clone Wars.

[jedies]

[ obi-wan smiles faintly. ]

Not at all. I imagine it was a personal query. I didn't mean to overstep.

And that's correct. I was still serving as a general at the end of the Clone Wars.

[hopesparks]

No, it's okay. You can ask whatever you want. I'm not sure why he didn't say anything, but I'm sure he didn't mean any harm.

You've probably figured out that I'm from pretty far in the future. [ Obi-Wan can practically hear Anakin smiling. ] My uncle told me about you, but it's nice to meet you in person. Or... via comms.

[jedies]

I hope you heard good things.

[ though he imagines that the retelling may have been a bit hazy. ]

But well met, Anakin Solo. If you need anything, do not hesitate to ask.

[hopesparks]

Only good things, actually. I think that's just how it is when an apprentice is talking about his master.

[ Oh, Anakin, you sweet summer child. ]

Of course, Master Kenobi. [ Of course he won't ask for help. ] I'm at your service as well, whenever you need me.

[jedies]

[ hmm. ]

How far along are you in your training?

[hopesparks]

I've been in formal training for five years.

[ Yeah the new Order is a little. Different. ]

[jedies]

And your master is Luke?

[ it heartens him to know the jedi order lives on. it's fine if it's changed or different. everything goes through changes. ]

[hopesparks]

He is, though I've also trained with other masters. They each had something different to teach me.

[ Anakin pauses a moment. He decides he can mention Ikrit. For Ben. ]

One of them was a student of Master Yoda's, a long time ago.

[jedies]

[ he blinks. ]

Yoda's student?

[hopesparks]

Master Ikrit. You wouldn't have met him-- he was asleep for four hundred years. Well, not quite asleep. He was guarding something.

[jedies]

[ obi-wan frowns minutely. he supposes it was possible, but odd. yoda's students were many, but the ones he personally taught over a long period were few. ]

I suppose I have a great deal to learn about this future.

[hopesparks]

[ Considering he's currently arguing with the other Anakin about Jedi knowing their parents, he's inclined to agree. ]

I won't mind any questions you have to ask. I might not be able to answer them all, though.

[jedies]

[ he shakes his head. ]

All in due time. I rather focus on the present.

[hopesparks]

[ Anakin takes a deep breath. ]

I should do the same, I think. There's a lot I'm going to have to get straight in my head.

[ It's been A Day. He doubts he'll get a lot of breathing room either. ]

[jedies]

[ obi-wan smiles, bemused. ]

As you should. It is advice often passed around among the Jedi.

[hopesparks]

I get the feeling I'll be drawing on a lot of my training. Particularly everything I've learned about patience.

[ Which isn't always his strong suit. ]

[jedies]

I should hope so. That is what it's there for.
