Hello. Again. [ Oof, okay, not the strongest start. ] I'm Anakin Solo, a knight of the Jedi Order, at your service. I sort of remember being here before, and I wanted to thank everyone who helped me out.

They offered me a bed at the orphanage, but I don't want to take it from someone who might need it.
How does housing work here, exactly? I don't mind sleeping outside, but that doesn't seem wise in the long run.

[ A pause. ]

By the way, I don't remember the sky being like this before-- is this normal? As normal as anything is here, I mean.

[ Another pause. He's clearly not in his element. ]

Only good things, actually. I think that's just how it is when an apprentice is talking about his master.

[ Oh, Anakin, you sweet summer child. ]

Of course, Master Kenobi. [ Of course he won't ask for help. ] I'm at your service as well, whenever you need me.

[jedies]

[ hmm. ]

How far along are you in your training?

[hopesparks]

I've been in formal training for five years.

[ Yeah the new Order is a little. Different. ]

[jedies]

And your master is Luke?

[ it heartens him to know the jedi order lives on. it's fine if it's changed or different. everything goes through changes. ]

[hopesparks]

He is, though I've also trained with other masters. They each had something different to teach me.

[ Anakin pauses a moment. He decides he can mention Ikrit. For Ben. ]

One of them was a student of Master Yoda's, a long time ago.

[jedies]

[ he blinks. ]

Yoda's student?

[hopesparks]

Master Ikrit. You wouldn't have met him-- he was asleep for four hundred years. Well, not quite asleep. He was guarding something.

[jedies]

[ obi-wan frowns minutely. he supposes it was possible, but odd. yoda's students were many, but the ones he personally taught over a long period were few. ]

I suppose I have a great deal to learn about this future.

[hopesparks]

[ Considering he's currently arguing with the other Anakin about Jedi knowing their parents, he's inclined to agree. ]

I won't mind any questions you have to ask. I might not be able to answer them all, though.

[jedies]

[ he shakes his head. ]

All in due time. I rather focus on the present.

[hopesparks]

[ Anakin takes a deep breath. ]

I should do the same, I think. There's a lot I'm going to have to get straight in my head.

[ It's been A Day. He doubts he'll get a lot of breathing room either. ]

[jedies]

[ obi-wan smiles, bemused. ]

As you should. It is advice often passed around among the Jedi.

[hopesparks]

I get the feeling I'll be drawing on a lot of my training. Particularly everything I've learned about patience.

[ Which isn't always his strong suit. ]

[jedies]

I should hope so. That is what it's there for.

[hopesparks]

I'll treat this as a learning opportunity, then, I guess.

[ He's trying to roll with the punches, so to speak. But his forced calm and weak optimism betray how much he's actually struggling, no matter how hard he tries to hide it.

And he's really trying to hide it. ]

[jedies]

[ obi-wan hums. ]

Or a chance to ask for help, if you need it. Even the best of us must remember that.

[hopesparks]

[ Leave it to a Master to see right through him. How do they do that anyway? ]

I'll keep that in mind, Master.

For now, I'll focus on getting my bearings. Sleeping outside is ill-advised, so house-hunting is top of the list for now.

[jedies]

It shouldn't prove too difficult to find lodgings at least.

[hopesparks]

Do you have any suggestions? I want to be where I'm most needed.

[jedies]

. . . You want to be needed in a place to reside?

[hopesparks]

[ He says it like a mantra: ] I'm a Jedi. It's my job to protect people. And it's easier to do it when I'm living nearby.

[jedies]

[ obi-wan looks bemused. ]

But do you even know what you're protecting them from?

[hopesparks]

[ You got him there, Obi-Wan. ]

Apparently something happens once a month.

[ Nice and vague, there, Anakin. ]

[jedies]

Well, at least you're somewhat aware.

But even a Jedi needs rest and recuperation. We only sacrifice ourselves when it is necessary, not to sacrifice our wellbeing.

Find a place you're comfortable with. When you are needed, the Force will let you know.

[hopesparks]

[ Oof, he felt that rebuke even through the network. But it's a gentle one, meant to remind him to take care.

It reminds him of Luke-- Master Luke-- and he feels both comforted and homesick. ]
