[ What kind of party decorations would Uraraka like best? The question lodges itself at the back of his mind, ever present. He ends up at a local cafe for a few hours scrolling through his device looking at party blogs. There's a notepad in front of him with different themes jotted down: wild west, pirates, tropical island, fright night, luau, masquerade, under the sea. It's quite an interesting assortment and he looks so very serious about it, staring intently at what he's written before adding another - rave. 

When social media blogs fail to help him narrow down his choices, he turns to Trench. The video turns on showing him seated outside a cafe in street clothes. Once he sees that it's recording he gets straight to the point. ]

[ Anyone who knows him is welcome to take up a seat and help him hammer down a theme. He can be found scrolling through a few party blogs online. Most of them are full of people AT parties instead of the decorations, so he ends up zooming into the background a lot of the time to catch a glimpse of the decor instead of the group cheering into the camera, beer sloshing, with ready smiles so unlike the one looking through them so intently. ]

[oh, it's allen's friend who always seems to be sleeping standing up whenever they have a spare minute. her little smile is fond and amused.]

Are you asking for any particular reason?

[almost two thirds of sansa's life took place in the long summer, but very little that they liked to do in winterfell would be appropriate here. the trenchwood is too dangerous for walks, and she has yet to see any little pools besides the salt lake that is only ever good to swim in under a full moon.]

We could walk in the gardens, I suppose.

[ Power naps are how he functions. It helps that he's a light sleeper so standing isn't an issue. He also recognizes Sansa from when he dropped Allen off by the church. They haven't gotten a chance to talk with Shouto struggling with his corruption last month. Plus he's a task-oriented man. He stays long enough to complete a task before heading out. He doesn't participate in many conversations, typically listening more than adding his own input unless asked. She might have seen him working around the Guardian Sapling at times with a snow leopard lounging on one of the stronger branches, tail swishing in the air. It's the only time she can catch sight of his omen. Away from the cheery blossom, Kizu is absent. Tucked away within him, sleeping between his ribs, away from prying eyes. ]

[ Short and to the point without ruining Bakugou's surprise. ]

Gardens? Like a garden party?

[ He jots that down below 'rave' ]

[she certainly remembers him from the last party, where he seemed to be sleeping every time neither of them were talking to anyone.]

You could have any sort of party in the summer, unless there was something you wanted to do in the snow.

[she considers a moment.]

It would be nice to be outside, unless it's too hot. It's already getting to be warmer than anywhere I was during the long summer.

Cellar Door is the safest place to gather outside, I think, but there are people who could put up wards or barriers anywhere. Still, I think it's a nicer place to have a party than Gaze.

Snow isn't an issue.

[ Providing a winter wonderland in the middle of summer is something he's uniquely suited for, so at her suggestion, he tilts his head, considering. ]

Not particularly, though I admit I rarely got the chance to form much of an opinion. [also the braces make it kind of hard, but that's another matter.]

Why the inquiry about summer activities? [he'd guess maybe shouto is bored and thinking of things to do but he's also... hm, not sure shouto is the type to decide to have a summer blast here.]

[ Not quite the whole of it, but he's aware this is an open post and doesn't want to ruin Bakugou's surprise.

Also, what do you mean he's not the type? He's in street clothes and wearing sneakers! He's practically a party animal. You can even see his ankles!! AND his collar!!! ]

[Oh, this is an odd thing to come across after a break in her cleaning. Ochako's done with her laundry, now in the process of folding it as she responds to her friend's inquiry. She half wonders if this is for something - Todoroki doesn't usually ask these sorts of things without there being some intended purpose - but doesn't think to ask outright, mostly because she's actually thinking of an answer.]

Mmh...I think it depends on how late into summer it is!! Early summer, I like to go down by the waterways back in Musutafu and watch the sunset and listen to the cicadas, but late summer, I really, really love just being outside at night. My mama and papa and I would take the train out to see relatives in the countryside, and we'd go to festivals, watch fireworks, and stargaze out across the rice fields there...

That was my favorite thing, actually...just laying on the grass and watching the stars. There's not as much light pollution out there, so I could see a lot of constellations! Oh!! And then I'd try to catch fireflies with my papa, ehehe...

[ Her face pops up and instead of panic, his head tilts just slightly to the right. The only change in his expression is the slight parting of his mouth when she starts reminiscing of summers long gone. Her words bring up scenes he's seen in social media that mean nothing to him who never even got to play with his own siblings.

A young girl in love with summer and the night, skipping down the countryside with her mother and father on either side. She, preening with joy, grabs onto each of their hands when the first firework jets into the sky exploding into a thousand sparks of every color. It's a borrowed memory, probably not all that accurate, but it strikes him nonetheless. Foreign and out of touch, like a scene in a movie he once watched with the understanding that it was a 'fairy tale'. Not real. Except, it was.

He blinks when she laughs, remembering his task, and starts writing it down while it's still fresh in his mind, adding an asterisk by each.

I didn't know you liked to star gaze.

[ He keeps writing, pen moving steady, unrushed. ]

Have you gotten a chance to do that here?

[Ochako would love, love, love to share those dear memories with quite literally anyone - Todoroki included. If Trench weren't so dangerous, she would absolutely suggest a summer camping trip for herself and the boys somewhere (and make sure no kidnappings happen this time, thanks), just so they could enjoy roughing it and doing the fun things Ochako is used to. Maybe when it gets hotter, she could pitch the idea sometime - hell, even a little backyard campout would be fun.

The image Todoroki conjures is pretty accurate to what Ochako experienced, and if he were to tell her about it, she may half wonder if he had a vision of her past with his paleblood powers. It's possible... But, when her friend asks her about stargazing, Ochako immediately lights up.

Yeah!! I love space! I sort of got into it after researching information about my quirk, once it developed. I had to know about the effects of gravity, how it worked, and what it does to the human body, so...after all that, I sort of just fell down the rabbit hole into really appreciating space, I guess. Stars, constellations, planets and galaxies...different phases of the moon and dates of meteor showers...how and when a supernova occurs--! It's so cool. And space science is just as fascinating!!

Eh, I haven't really, not yet. But I do look at the different moons here, and try to compare then with ours. [She sighs, dreamily.] I'd really love a chance to, though. This place feels way more connected to cosmic bodies and stuff like that, y'know?

[ Almost a year ago, he arrived on the shorelines of Trench. In the time before Midoriya's arrival, he was forced to learn how to fend for himself and find purpose in a hellscape he doesn't understand and isn't nearly jaded enough to accept. So, he settled into a run-down shack on the outskirts of Prufrock District using every spare minute to turn it into a peaceful abode where koi fish splashed the water to get his attention every time he set foot outside. He found purpose in the faction of the Hunters he joined. It was familiar to what he knew back home, but he clashed with their ideals. Death wasn't something he could accept let alone deliver; beast or not. So, he patrols on his own, occasionally taking on a dangerous patrol with fellow Hunters who shared his ideology.

Midoriya's arrival sparked a return to form. A longing for home he'd forgotten about which only grew inside him when Bakugou and Uraraka arrived. The three of them were a taste of home he'd forgotten about. Touya's arrival cemented that feeling causing him to pull away from the ideals he'd built in Trench. He was changing, but not enough not to sparkle at the idea of camping with his friends. No matter how much he changed, they would always hold an important place in his heart.

His pen stops moving, the young man simply watching his friend through the comm device, his eyes warming with her enthusiasm. ]

Did you ever think about going into astronomy?

[ It's hard to imagine her as anything but a hero, but Ochako is one of those people who seemed to be able to thrive wherever they found themselves in. He nods at the question, understanding her meaning. ]

The connection between the moon and the lunar energy that runs this place feels like it's connected to something grandeur.

[ Another mention of the beach and fireworks. He makes sure to underline each, though he's a little surprised by the last part. ]

What does a kimono have to do with it?

[ Good point. Also, Uraraka mentioned a summer festival, so he zeroes in on that. ]

Sit in a bathtub full of cold water.

[Maul can't go swimming due to his lower half being completely made of metal so that's the next best thing when he's slowly roasting to death in hot months.]

And sleep. There's something very nice about falling asleep in a shady spot while it is hot out.

[ Except he likes that in the middle of winter too. Same with a hot bath until it boils over. Summer or winter, his mood fluctuates. ]

Huh... I feel the same way.

[ Are you him? No really. He has such simple tastes this is how he'd answer too. ]

I have become fond of the dessert known as ice cream, especially when it is meat-flavored or has bacon in it.

[He's a carnivorous alien, so of course he'd like his ice cream to have flavors humans might not enjoy.]

[She nods. She isn't all that happy with how she did in the tournament, but she doesn't begrudge anyone else their wins.]
