[ Kainé waits, statue-still as Rose produces the incense and lights it, still trying to ignore the tantalizing smell of apples and spices. It's a relief when the scent of incense joins them, signals that it's time to simply focus on the task at hand.

She draws a knife from a sheathe on her belt, knicks her thumb with the edge. A fat droplet of dull green Vileblood oozes out, the room smelling quite suddenly of flowers. She holds out her hand. ]

Drink up, then.

[she'd never actually used incense until she came here. her mother had some rather unflattering thoughts about such things, but her mother will never again get to dictate her life to her and Rose couldn't be happier for it.

she'd heard that Vileblood smelled like flowers, but the actual scent was extraordinary, like a flower garden.

Rose takes Kainé's hand, drinking the blood and feeling oddly like a vampire]

[ There isn't very much that comes out, even with the tendency of sleepers to bleed excessively. It's not as though she struck a vein, after all, and she doesn't know exactly what she should be doing. Kainé just wraps a couple fingers around the base of the bleeding one, constricting circulation to force more blood out.

Hopefully this will be enough to give Rose a little relief, at least for now. She pulls her thumb away, uses her blood magic to seal the tiny cut. ]

Feel better?

[it doesn't have the awful, coppery taste that "ordinary" blood had. in fact, it tastes as floral as it smells.

but she's careful to not take too much, just enough to hopefully ease her mind.

and it seems to have worked]

[ She nods curtly, but the tension drains out of her face. She was able to protect somebody after all. ]
