I love Cuts You Up by Peter Murphy and Love Will Tear Us Apart by Joy Division personally, but I'm willing to listen to just about anything.

Uh. Hi. If you don't know me, I'm Kyle. This is like, extremely awkward feeling, but I'm gonna do this anyway.

It's Passover season. You wanna come for Seder? You can come to my place in Gaze. It's uh, behind an empty storefront called Bi the Garage, just take the stairs up to the second floor. Open invite to anybody, just like... don't show up and try to kill anyone 'cause I absolutely will kick your ass. And if I die, my boyfriend will destroy you so like, don't even bother.

Obviously the menu might be uh, a little different? Because we live in the fucking mushroom kingdom and stuff. Also I'm not orthodox so don't expect this to be like... hardcore. But I'm gonna do my best. Show up on Friday I guess anytime since it's ALL after sundown now, so... yeah. If you show up early I'll put you to work, though.

[Hey all, been a few months. You remember this guy. The shirtless guy with the giant mech. Well he's back. Clothed, this time. Though he might get more help if he were shirtless again, huh. Alas.

Raleigh is outside, sitting next to a planting bed, lush with vegetation. Like so much. It's a suspicious amount of plant life for Trench.

He smiles and waves. It's dark, but there are little torches all over so it's got a luau kind of vibe.

The camera pans so you can see the garden properly. It's two huge raised beds full to the brim on either side of the walkway to a huge, newly finished greenhouse . Lit from the inside, she looks something of a crystal palace.]

Do you all see this? This is the future.

I dunno about all of you but I'm sick to death of mushrooms.

[He pans through the veggies, all growing happily under warded netting. Lettuce, tomatoes, squash, beans, corn. Familiar for a lot of people. Very rarely seen in this world.]

Last month all my powers turned into plant stuff so I've been making and growing as much as I can. Things are hard here and the soil is awful, but it can be done.

[Raleigh moves towards the green house. Free range chickens dart around his feet as he goes, looking for food. He's the mama. Some of them are wearing little crochet hats. Inside the greenhouse is table after table after table of seedlings. The other side is all planting beds full of soil ready to go.]

I've been thinking about how important food is to all of us. Not.. well, obviously it's important, but I mean culturally, too. Making food from home.. having ingredients from home.. that's kind of our last connection.

[He sets his Omni down and reappears in frame. He looks tired, but when doesn't he.]

So.. Is there anyone out there who cares about this stuff? Because honestly I have the land but I'm learning as I go along and I could use the help. I'm not a gardener but I think we can scale this in a way that means we all get access to fresh produce. Like a co-op thing? I dunno. The land needs purifying, water, there's no sun.

I was part of a seed bank back in Deerington. Has anyone saved seeds from last month's growth? Would you donate them towards the cause?

Oh- also dairy. That's something I want to work on. This is a stretch but if you have goats or cattle let me know.

[ The feed opens to show Ozpin within the sitting room of his manor in Gaze, hands folded over his filigreed walking cane. The glow of the moon combines with his overwrought wallpaper to make the background luridly green. He smiles thinly over his tinted glasses; he seems tense about something offscreen. ]

Good afternoon, everyone. I recognize it has been some time since I last discussed my services on this network... and so I wish to put out a call once again. For those who wish to hone their skills in combat, my name is Professor Ozpin, and I am glad to welcome students new and old.

As it happens, I have met with [ and here's an obvious flicker of annoyance ] several other combat instructors in town, and we have devised an event which all might enjoy. [ He turns his attention to the right, and the camera pans with him, to another silver-haired man. ]

Thank you, Professor Ozpin. [ He nods, turning back to look at the camera with a warm smile. ] Hello, everyone. I'm Terry Silver.

We'll be holding a martial arts tournament with both armed and unarmed divisions. We hope to hold it sometime in May, just for some friendly competition and a bit of motivation to learn and improve your self-defense skills. [ Will it stay friendly? Probably not. ]

All three of us will be offering lessons separately, and if you're a teacher with at least one student you can sign your own school up as well.

[ He looks to his right, clenching his teeth as he tries not to look too annoyed with Johnny. ] Anything you'd like to add, Sensei Lawrence?

[ Johnny moves in front of the two men who tower over him so he’s the prime focus of the feed from here on out. ]

Listen up, nerds.

This tournament is going to have some ground rules for anyone who wants to participate.

Rule number 1: No powers, magical bullshit, or any other crap like that. A real badass doesn’t need those in a fight. He- Or she beats the crap out of her opponent with their own two hands or a weapon in this case.

Rule number 2: These fights aren’t an all out brawl. This is going to be a test of skills. You’ll be awarded points in a match. You need three points to win. You’ll be awarded points for a clean hit to the head or body.

Rule number 3: No murder. This should go without fucking saying. We’re here to kick ass and take names. A real winner knows when he’s won.

[ The camera shifts slightly as a human-sized stuffed ninja wearing a “Super Awesome Ninja School” t-shirt is thrown into frame. Johnny leaps up and kicks it in the chest and out of frame before landing on the ground in one solid motion. ]

This is an open challenge to any of the other combat schools looking to start up. Next month, be there or be square.
