We didn't have any of it, either. I'm still not fully adjusted yet, but I've been here since February. How long have you been here? If I may ask?

I barely knew what to do with them, either. I had a ladies' maid for such things back home. As soon as I arrived, I discarded my previous style of dress. It was impractical, at best. That last part is met with a suddenly very flustered Chizuru - even if Rose can't see her, she'll definitely be able to hear it thanks to the surprised noise Chizuru lets out right upon hearing it - who immediately squeaks: ]

[ Oh, gosh, no. Just the idea of it is enough to fluster her! ]

I-- I mean, um..! Everything in this place is already complicated enough without that..!

[ For sure. ]

It's more just.. everything? But it feels a little scary and embarrassing to admit that.. [ Even though she's doing so now. But Rose has admitted all sort of scary things on her end too, so Chizuru figures she also ought to be brave here. ] Especially since I've been here for just as long as you, so I feel like I should be understanding more at this point..

[ Yet it's all still pretty difficult for her. ]

[she can hear the nervous tone of the other young woman's voice and tries to hasten to reassure her]

It's entirely all right to feel that way, and you're right to at least some degree. This place is complicated. And falling for someone means you've got another person to worry about in addition to ourselves. It can be awfully complicated.

[all said in as soothing a voice as she can manage]

There's nothing scary or embarrassing about any of that. We all cope in our own ways, in our own time. Something could come along that would completely startle me, but you'd be able to deal with it just fine. But...what do you feel like you should understand more? Maybe I can help?

[ What does she feel like she should understand more? Is there even anything specific she can pick out when Chizuru feels that way when faced with pretty much anything in this place? She isn't too sure, and for a moment she doesn't seem to answer, instead lightly chewing on her lip as she thinks.

It doesn't feel right to single out one thing when there's so much she doesn't understand, but she tries to just name the first thing that comes to mind. Just so Rose has something to work with, when she's being so kind to offer Chizuru help. ]

Um.. For example.. All that talk about our blood. I realise that our blood is special here-- different. [ She's at least gotten that far. ] But people also say that we should be able to do special things with it, and that part I don't understand at all.. I haven't noticed anything different about myself ever since showing up here.

[Rose, not to brag about herself, but she'd been very forward-thinking for a young woman in 1912. granted, there were still many surprises about the future, but she tried her best to roll with them instead of cower away from them.

I've been told that it can take a while for one's abilities to fully flower. Goodness knows mine haven't reached full strength yet. But may I ask you which blood type is yours?

[ Or so she's heard, anyway. Chizuru hasn't been able to do a whole lot of research on her own about these things, instead trusting what other people have told and taught her. ]

Even though I still don't know much about what that means. I just know that my blood is.. different than it used to be. [ But it's hard to tell how different. Most of the time it still looks the same whenever it flows out of her, after all. Hence the little hesitant pause before she uses that word. ]

[Rose hasn't been able to get much practice with her skills yet. she didn't want to invade someone's mind or make them hallucinate. and dreamwalking depended largely on the dream]

It's strange, isn't it? Soon after I arrived, I got a papercut. I was...quite surprised to see opalescent blood in place of red. [and she recognizes the worry in Chizuru's voice] If you like, you can practice with me?

[ Chizuru shifts nervously in place as she thinks about it, though it's inaudible over the voice communication. It mostly just means that there's a slight pause. ]

You mean.. together..?

[ It's obviously what Rose meant, and yet the girl can't help but apparently want to confirm it anyway. Like she almost can't believe what she's hearing here. ]

Are you sure you'd want to? I mean.. um, you hardly know me, and I wouldn't want it to feel odd for you to practice with someone who's basically a stranger..

[Rose waits calmly for an answer]

Yes, that's exactly what I mean!

[why wouldn't she ask? Chizuru seemed like a sweet young lady and like one who wouldn't judge any accidents along the way. she knew she still had a long way to go with her abilities and assumed Chizuru was in the same boat]

I wouldn't feel odd, but if you would, I understand.

N-No! It's fine with me!

[ For someone who just suggested it might be strange with a stranger, Chizuru is quick to deny what the other is saying here. Almost too quick, but it's not because she's lying - it's just that she doesn't want Rose to feel like Chizuru would think doing anything with her is strange, even for a moment. ]

As long as you're fine with it, then.. I am too. Even if I wouldn't really know where to start with practicing in the first place.. [ How does one practice using your new weird blood? ]

All right. I'm glad.

[she's well aware of the differences between the apparent now and 1912. but this young woman comes from even earlier than she does, so Rose wants to make sure Chizuru is completely comfortable first]

I've been told that meditation is a good place to start?

[ Meditation, huh. It's not something Chizuru exactly does on the regular or anything, but on the other hand, it's also not something she's totally unfamiliar with.

And because she does know what the other is talking about, trying that seems.. harmless, at least. And Rose seems so kind and helpful that Chizuru can't help but want to spend some time with her, if it's truly okay with the other.. ]

.. I'd like to do that together then. I could come over to your house sometime, or.. um, you could come over to mine. Whichever you are more comfortable with..

[Rose had never heard of it before Maul taught it to her. now she tries to get in at least a little every day.

and it should be harmless. Rose would do her best to monitor herself while keeping an eye on Chizuru]

Wonderful! And I honestly don't mind either way. You might be more comfortable in your own surroundings, though, so perhaps your place is the best option.

[ Since Rose is definitely right that Chizuru would be a lot more fussy over at someone else's place. She just can't help but worry about whether or not she's being polite when she's coming over.. ]

I'll make sure that we can have tea! Oh, and I'll also make sure there's some nice pastries as a snack..! [ That's the least she can do in return for Rose being so nice and willing to help her out with all of this, Chizuru feels. ]

[she figured as much, knowing she'd be fairly similar. but she's growing accustomed to this strange new world and its customs, slowly but surely. and she wants to help Chizuru feel the same]

(Chizuru honestly isn't too sure whether it works that way herself either - they're both still getting used to devices like these, clearly.)

[ Please, the very idea of doing anything that could be even remotely seen as pressuring someone to do such a thing is terrifying to Chizuru. As evidenced by the way she's immediately fretting in surprise here. ]

You stopping by my house is enough of a present in and of itself! And.. um, besides, you'd be the guest, so I want to make sure to treat you well..!

[she hears the gasp, the slight tremble in Chizuru's voice and hastens to reassure her]
