[ The feed clicks on to show a sheepish looking Laurel on her couch. After a moment, she sits up straighter and clears her throat. ]

Sooo, last month, I got into a bar fight. [ She winces. ] But I wasn't exactly myself at the time. I was...a different version of myself, I think? One that has meta powers, likes violence and drinking. [ There's another wince. ] If you saw me dressed head to toe in black leather a few weeks ago and sporting some dark lipstick, that wasn't me. But I do apologise for that person.

[ This isn't the whole point of her addressing the wider network, but Laurel wanted to clear the air. ]

Which leads me on to my other reason for this post. Back home, I'm a lawyer and have been for about four years now. As there's no law in this place, I tried to think about how I could apply those skills. A while back, some people suggested that I become a mediator. Someone who could act as a neutral party to help people resolve their issues or problems without resorting to violence.

It's a work in progress because I need a space to facilitate it properly. I don't think anyone wants to talk about their issues in my tiny one bedroom apartment. [ Heh.] If there's a space available somewhere, can you let me know please?

Since money isn't a thing here either, I would accept food or items I can trade with at the Willful Machine markets.

[ there is a fair amount of.. fiddling and movement as alisaie sets her omni down upon a wooden surface - possibly a table? - and adjusts it to face toward her with a squint. a small young elezen woman sits across from you! ]

I've no idea if this is even working..

[ she's frowning into the feed, but finally she seats herself on a rickety bench. wherever she is, she's outdoors somewhere, the grey sky overhead, the chill wind tossing her hair. she opens her mouth to speak, closes it again, opens it again.. and sighs. ]

My apologies. Mayhaps I should have written a script. I'm not particularly good at.. this.

[ this being addressing a bunch of people via a video network, apparently. she's gotten much better at speaking with people over the years, but broadcasting yourself is something else entirely!! alisaie fidgets nervously, but finally seems to find her words, because she's making a fool of herself in front of all of trench, gods. she clears her throat. ]

My name is Alisaie Leveilleur, I've arrived only recently, so I thought it only right to introduce myself. I've yet to figure out exactly what to do with myself, so I am happy to offer my hands, should anyone have need of them. I am far stronger than I look, so I could help with any building or repairs, or cleaning, or if you've a mind to learn the art of the red mage, I am happy to teach insomuch as I am able.

[ she has no idea what people's magickal capabilities are like here.. ]

[ a beat. she fidgets awkwardly again. ]

Well, that is - oh! If anyone happens to know of anyone who lived on a world called Hydaelyn, please let me know. Most especially if that person happens to look very much like me.

[A... lady that looks like she never quite finished the squid metamorphosis appears on the feed. She has elevated the crystal in the air in front of her and giving it a curious appraisal.]

These omnis are interesting. We have something like these back home called sending stones. The fact that they can serve both sights and sounds is a fascinating advancement indeed.

[Ah, but this is the first time broadcasting things in such a way. Perhaps introductions are in order?]

[She gestures a hand to her chest and bows.] Allow me to introduce myself. I am Nil. I have recently arrived, and am learning the use of this magical item, as well as learn as more of the world.

Ah, for example. I had heard some inquire of my form as corrupted or beast... hood? I have taken the time to read a bit more on this, and from my understanding that may not be the case. This is simply how I am. However, if anybody has personal experience with these, I would very much appreciate what you know.

[And so she leans back, looking intently at the omni as information comes in. After the second or third person, however, her expression changes from casual interest to flustered distress.]

...I didn't raelize there were so many people listening...

[ Sal appears on video, for a moment he's perhaps a touch too close as he peers through his omni. Once he leans back and fully comes into view there's just some masked dude with a mess of blue hair staring into your souls. He has an odd looking guitar on his lap, and when he speaks his voice is slightly muffled and raspy.]

So, sup. I'm Sal, but everyone calls me Sally Face. [ He gives a small wave. ] To cut to the chase; I play guitar. So if anyone needs and or knows who needs someone who can shred it, or maybe gently shred it — I don't know, hit me up?

While I'm here, what's everyone's favorite kinda music? Any recommendations? This might be the most ridiculous thing to say given literally everything about this situation but I could use somethin' to do. Which isn't really a bad thing. It's a nice break. But, you know...[ He's just going to cap this off with a vague handwave as he trails off...he's been a bit isolated for a while, forgive the awkward. ]

[ But! Instead of just making everyone take his word for it that he knows what he's doing he decides to strum out a few notes as an example. A very energetic, alternative rock tune that might sound slightly familiar to some.

He's totally playing a rock version of Mary Had a little Lamb. He panicked, okay! ]

[ A young girl sits at a table in an otherwise nondescript room, her hands folded in front of her in a picture of perfect professionalism. Her white button-down shirt is similarly perfect, not a wrinkle in sight, and tailored to her thin frame. Her gaze into her omni is expressionless — some might call it cold — and her high, childish voice is tempered with the assured enunciation of an adult. ]

Good evening. My name is Tanya von Degurechaff. I'm new here, so I have a couple questions for anyone willing to answer.

First, what kind of job do you currently have? If you don't have one, then I'm also interested in hearing what you did before you arrived here.

Second, are there any jobs or businesses you'd like to see here? I recognize that this is a broad question, but since we come from a broad range of backgrounds, any feedback is welcome.

[ A pause, a stray thought seeming to flicker through her head before she continues. ]

As for myself, I have experience with personnel management, various air-based operations, tactical field research, and administrative work. More broadly, I'm an aerial mage. The business I'd like to see is a coffee shop.
